Consider border collie collapse syndrome most likely given symptoms, Mel has read through the info and thinks she fits the syndrome very well
Has been minimising exercise as best as possible

Ideal to rule out other causes of hyperthermia related collapse so we should test for retriever type exercise induced collapse and also screen for DCM with pro BNP testing

There's an orivet swab collection package in the draws in lab
Please run the following when she comes in if I'm not here;
-CP2 (not comp as I want a CK level included)
-pro BNP at Idexx
-orivet genetic testing for Exercise Induced Collapse (Retriever Type) - Gene DNM1

Doing fine, no concerns, we'll discuss genetic testing later in the week

Hyperthermic after exercise

Emergency presentation by owner for acute collapse and hyperthermia after running at park
Temp severely elevated, panting +++

Active cooling by dampening and fan application
Placed IV catheter and adminstered IV fluids over 4 hours

Rapid response and rapid return to normal
BAR, drinking and eating well prior to discharge

Not typical for heatstroke given such rapid response, and only 25'C so unusual weather for this breed to be affected by heat
Concerned re border collie collapse syndrome or similar-will print some info for O Mel and look into workup options
She reports that she can't keep up with other dogs, tires and pants and becomes hot way faster than other dogs at park
