She had one large thigh mass removed and submitted for testing today. The incision is a bit larger than the mass since the mass was oval a tension relieving incision was used to keep the skin from being too tight. She also had bloodwork done today that was really normal. Luna also had a small chin mass removed.Today, Luna got an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory shot. Please start her oral medications tomorrow evening (meloxicam + Amoxyclav) with food:1. Meloxicam (metacam) 30 kilogram dose once a day starting tomorrow evening for 1 week for pain and inflammation.2. Amoxyclav 500mg tablets Give 1 tablet by mouth twice a day starting tomorrow until finished. This medication is an oral antibiotic.3. Gabapentin 300mg Give 1 capsule by mouth twice a day as needed for pain. (START TONIGHT IF NEEDED)These medications can be given at the same time with food.Discontinue these medications and call us if she is not eating, vomiting or having diarrhea.Luna had an IV placed in her arm so she will have a shave mark on her leg. If it is irritated or bothersome, please contact us. She maybe very sedate for the next 24-48 hours after anesthesia, this can be normal. Her skin mass has sutures under the skin. Please recheck with a nurse in 3-5 days to make sure her incision is healing. There is no additional charge for this check. It can be normal for some animals to have a little tummy upset after anesthesia, but please let us know if he has any vomiting. Also, toileting can be increased or decreased shortly after an anesthetic event; this can be normal. We would like to see Luna back in 3-5 days if possible to check his mouth, skin incision, weight and make sure he is eating and drinking well. Please make an appointment with a nurse. Please let us know if he has any problems. Thanks so much for allowing us to care for Luna. We all think he is so cute! We hope he does well after his dental extraction and mass removals! Sincerely, Allison
