Lump Removal Beth, 13y FN Staffordshire terrier cross, presented today for 2x lump removals. L dorsolateral thorax just caudal to shoulder and R thoracic inlet region just lateral of midline. O has declined histopathology upon admission. Aneasthesia & Surgery Preanaesthesia blood test:(Yes - Mild ALP elevation 244U/L (ref 20-150), mild ALT elevation 132U/L (ref 10-118)) Anaesthesia Catheterized (24)G IV catheter in (R)FL cephalic v. Premedication: ACP (0.025)mg/kg (0.11)mL and Methadone (0.2)mg/kg (0.18)mL subcutaneously. Induction: Alfaxan (1.41)mL via intravenous catheter in the cephalic vein titrated to effect. Maintenance: 2% isoflurane gas via an endotracheal tube size (6.5) Fluids: (hartmann's) fluid through IV catheter at (56)mL/hr Recovery: (smooth, uneventful) Medications: Preop(Atropine 0.43ml SIV), intra-op(-), post-op (Meloxicam 0.37ml SQ upon recovery) Surgery: Surgical procedure performed: (lumpectomy) Surgical report: Animal placed in (R lateral) recumbency, then L lateral Surgery site clipped and surgically prepared with (chlorhexadine, alcohol, chlorhexadine scrub) Site: (L dorsolateral thorax just caudal to shoulder, R thoracic inlet region just lateral to midline) Procedure Methods: Drapes placed LUMP #1: Incision made over () with (#15) scalpel blade. () Closure: () Subcutaneous tissue closure with (3/0) (PDS) in buried (simple continuous) pattern. Skin tissue closure with (3/0) (PDS) in (buried simple continuous intradermal) pattern.
