hx: went to groomer for nail trim & was encouraged to consider dewclaw amputation given nails quite curled.
intermittent hindlimb lame that corrects either w' dose meloxicam or by itself; v infrequent occurs.

exam:
owt.  healthy coat.  sweet.  QAR.
ht sounds regular, no FP delays.  lung sounds clear.
abd soft.
thickened stifle, sugg gr2-3/4 bilat MLP
nails trimmed.

plan:
no indication for dewclaw amputation; consider use of cat nail clippers if concerned will pinch the digital pad with the trim.

Premedication:
0.08ml Acepromazine IM
0.12ml Methadone IM
0.01ml Dexmedetomidine IM

ET size: 4.0

Induction:
0.8ml Alfaxan given slow IV. 
Maintained with Isoflurane/oxygen.

Procedure:
Routine dental scale and polish. Large bits of plaque removed using instruments, gums and tooth roots probed and any necessary extractions performed. Teeth then thoroughly cleaned with dental scaler and polished. 
NAD with mouth

Additional Procedures:
XRAY LHL - healing well nad
Stable

No complications and good recovery from anesthetic.
