Reason: Recheck 6 Weeks History: Presented for 6 week post MPL surgery recheck. Owner reports patient is doing well - has no concerns. Will intermittently move leg away when touched at stifles. Have been strictly following recovery guidelines. Examination:BAR, all vitals WNL. No maltracking of patellas when conscious. No lameness. Imaging: Patient sedated with medetomidine and butorphanol IV. Orthogonal radiographs of the stifles bilateral obtained. Radiographs demonstrate good joint alignment and apposition, no implant failure. Activity good with bridging of osteotomy bilaterally. Sedated examination reveals stable stifle joints. Palpable implants, not requiring irritation at this stage. Can luxation R patella laterally, but returns spontaneously (no luxation when conscious). Plan:Gradual return to pre-surgery exercise levels over 2-3 weeks. Increase walks by 10-15 minutes. No crate rest required. If irritation with the implants occurs may need explant later on - no concerns at this stage though. Owner Communication:JI called both owners at 1135. No answer. Will send message. Called back at 1130. Discussed the above - happy with progress. Vital Signs
