History:History: 10y Staffie presented for acute facial swelling, tender to palpation. O noted the swelling this morning; it has already started to resolve. Appetite, thirst, and energy levels are normal. EDDU normally. No V+. No coughing/sneezing. Patient is scheduled for a dental procedure on 03/31/2026.

Physical Examination:

- BAR
- Weight: 18.7 kg
- Mild facial swelling, tender to palpation.
- Eyes & ears clear, free from discharge or inflammation.
- Oral Exam: No obvious evidence of a tooth root abscess. A tooth was noted to be in poor condition, which is scheduled for extraction.
- MM pink & moist, CRT <2, no skin tent.
- Cardiothoracic auscultation clear with no murmurs/arrythmias, crackles or wheezes. Pulses strong & synchronous.
- Abdominal palpation soft & comfortable with no palpable masses, organomegaly or thickenings.
- No peripheral lymphadenopathy
- Skin & coat in good condition

Differentials:

- Trauma/injury
- Allergic reaction/insect bite
- Tooth root abscess

Treatment:

- Anti-inflammatory: 3/4 tablet PO BID for 5 days.

Recommendations & Follow Up/Discussion:

- Administer medication as directed.
- Recheck if swelling worsens, as antibiotics may be required.
- Proceed with scheduled dental procedure and full oral assessment on 03/31/2026.
