Hosp obs - Day 2 - acute GI v. hypoA
Acute GI improved.
Noting hyponatraemia from Sept, SF concern re. possible hypoA (Addisons). K+ was normal at that time.
Suggest we should follow up on this once Mishi is better - previous low Na; recurrent GI (seems to be presumed to be sensitivity), young female poodle - clinical signs and signalment, so have index of suspicion for this.
PCV 55%
No electrolytes seen on the blood samples ran by CVES yestedray; no value in doing today as has been on IVFT Hartmanns.
Suggest to repeat electrolytes next week; ACTH stim test advised to investigate possible Addisons which can present waxing/ waning illness inc. GI signs. Gave handout. She does have a V/D episode once or twice - usually just a quick puke then she's done, no lethargy etc.
Discus diet - on SPD single protein, thought the V+ that she did was not recongised food which she had been ofeered - suggest try a lower fat, one eg the kangaroo one is l think the lowest
-> suepct acute GI after 'dietary indiscretion'
