Good afternoon Konrad, I just tried to call to chat to you about your handsome boy Ren. I can see that the ultrasound showed significant fluid accumulation around the left kidney and this is what made it feel as though the kidney was larger than the other. Knowing the best way to proceed for Ren is a challenge and I would recommend we refer him to an Veterinary Internal Medicine specialist for a second opinion. Surgical removal of the kidney may need to be discussed however this is a big decision to make and I want to make sure we have as much information as possible. If you would like to go ahead with referral, please let us know. Once we have your consent we will send Ren's medical history and a request form to Animalius in Bayswater. You will then contact them directly to book an appointment at a time that suits you. I do not think we need to make any urgent decisions as Ren otherwise appears to be very well. I do think, however, that it would be a very good plan to arrange the second opinion within the next few months. Sincerely, Dr Hannah Beveridge
