REASON:
Pentosan injection.

HISTORY:
Owner reports improvement since starting Pentosan injections. Walking easier and seems generally happier. Not as stiff. No vomiting or diarrhoea.

Previous medical/surgery history:
07/07/2025 - Conjunctivitis.
14/05/2025 - Four lipomas removed.
14/02/2025 - Kennel cough vaccination, dental discussed, cytology on lipoma.
15/12/2023 - Back pain.
06/12/2022 - Lipoma removal.

Current meds:
4cyte supplement.
Meloxicam as needed, has a 2/3 full bottle at home.

Endo/ectoparasite treatment:
Up to date.

Current diet/change in intake:
No change mentioned.

EXAMINATION:
Demeanour- BAR, anxious.
Eyes - NAD. Small skin tag on right lower eyelid.
Ears - NAD.
Nose - NAD.
Oral - Mild dental calculus on maxillary teeth. No oral masses.
Heart Rate- 150bpm, no murmur or arrhythmia.
Respiratory Rate- Lung sounds NAD.
Body Condition Score- 7/9.
Abdominal palpation - NAD.
Urogenital - NAD.

Musculoskeletal - Spinal palpation normal. Mildly reduced ROM on both elbows on extension. LH has mildly reduced ROM. RH has moderately reduced ROM. 
Neuro- Conscious proprioception mildly delayed in RH, normal in LH.
Integument - Skin tag on right lower eyelid. Otherwise NAD

DIAGNOSTICS:
Nil.

ASSESSMENT:
1. Osteoarthritis - Improving with Pentosan injections.

TREATMENT
1. Osteoarthritis
- Pentosan 0.36mls SC. 
- Dispensed one bottle of Meloxicam x 30ml 1.5mg/ml. Owner advised to give at 0.1mg/kg (0.8ml) on days when stiff, especially with the approaching winter months.
- Next course of Pentosan injections to start in approximately 6 months (September/October 2026).

PLAN:
- Recheck in 6 months (approx. 09/2026 or 10/2026) to restart Pentosan course.
- Continue 4cyte supplement.
- Use Meloxicam as needed for stiffness.
- Clinic will send a reminder for the next appointment.
