Species:CANINE
Breed:French Bulldog
Age (years):1
Diagnosis or signs:Hospital, Vaccination
Consult notes
03/03/2026 Reason: Patient recheck
History:
- Received reminder that due for vaccination today
- But in the booklet O arrived with, vaccination is not due until April 2026 (15mo annual C5)
O's assessment:
- Also, P is currently eating Hills Derm Complete Care
- Is on this diet due to ongoing, intermittent pruritis
- Pruritis responds to topicals (Neocort) and occ. Cytopoint injections
- Last Cytopoint ~4wks ago
- O is applying Neocort to feet and abdomen daily
- O is struggling with the cost of Hills Derm and queries whether Royal Canin French Bulldog would be ok
- The RC diet would be ~%70 per bag less than the Hills Derm CC.

Examination:
Demeanour: BAR
BCS: 5
INTEG:
- Asymptomatic for skin lesions today
- Not currently pruritic
EARS:
- Ears are good today

Assessment:
- No vaccination performed today as is early
- Annual vaccination due 14th April 2026
- Suspect pruritis is more related to environmental allergens (atopy and/or contact)
- Ok to trial Pumba on Royal Canin French Bulldog and see whether pruritis increases once fully weaned onto this new diet

Plan:
- Purchase RC French Bulldog
- Spend 2wks weaning onto new diet
- Then feed for 4-8wks and monitor pruritis
- Will be hard to gauge as over this time, Cytopoint will wear off
- Also, pruritis is on-and-off anyway (not consistently pruritic: has good days and bad)
- Which will make assessment of Ps level of pruritis very difficult
