Reason: Email Communication In InboxGood afternoon Dr. JohnstoneIt has been 2 weeks since we started Dusty on the medication and I have seen a sign improvement in his cough and overall demeanour also the head shaking and scratching has stopped I’m not sure if that is because of the medication but his ears are no longer bothering him. His cough has stopped during the day and night as we are sleeping the whole night with no coughing only in the morning when we wake up he might cough up to 2 times for as little as 5-10 seconds. I have also noticed he has more energy I’m thinking that he has not tired himself out from all the coughing.Is it possible to continue him on this medication? At times, we do see some adverse effects such as weight gain or coat thinning when this medication is used long-termIf you feel this is improving the situation, then long-term an inhaler could help, as this reduces the risk of adverse effects.  I will ask the team to provide medication for ~1 month to you by Monday; when you pick this up, could I please ask that you arrange for a revisit before you run out of this medication and we can talk about ongoing medication plans.Before that visit, trazodone prescribed previously is also recommended.Kind regards,Dr Thurid JohnstoneARH Essendon    Vital Signs
