Monitor for signs of tick paralysis: gagging, vomiting, off food, excess panting, weakness in back legs and change in bark. If you see any of these signs, a recheck is advised, and tick antiserum may need to be given.3. Three monthly tapeworming - Popantel4. Bathe in a soap free shampoo, e.G. Aloveen shampoo. Which leaves the natural oils in the coat. Apply a leave in conditioner. E.G. Aloveen conditioner.5. Microchip:- Microchip registration - Register online before 12 weeks of age at www.petregistry.nsw.gov.au.- Microchip contact details - Keep your address/contact details up to date online at www.petregistry.nsw.gov.au.6. Ear infection:- Ear infections may be caused by an underlying skin allergy. Skin allergies cannot be cured, and they will recur. We can only control the clinical signs.- Consider a food allergy as a component of the skin irritation. We can perform a 6 week food elimination trial with a prescription diet  (Hills ZD fed exclusively for 6 weeks minimum). Hills ZD contains high quality hydrolysed proteins, essential fatty acids and antioxidants.- Await the ear bacterial culture and antibiotic sensitivity results, we will call you when the results arrive. Depending on the results, the ear medication may need to be changed, additional medications may be required and long term therapy may be required.- Corticosteroid, Pred 5mg, Give 1 tablet twice a day for 5 days, then give 1 tablet once a day for 5 days, then give 1 tablet every second day. Side effects include: increased thirst and appetite.- Malaseb Shampoo 250Ml - Mix 1 part shampoo in 50 parts warm water to clean the ears. Clean the ears on a daily basis until the amount of discharge decreases, then reduce the ear cleaning to every 2nd day, then every 3rd day. Aim for weekly to 2 weekly basis as a maintenance ear cleaning program. Wait 10 minutes after cleaning the ears before applying the medicated ear drops.- Otoflush Ear Cleaner - A neutral buffered ear flush formulated to clean the ear canal of wax and discharge, thereby improving the penetration of prescribed ear medications. Otoflush reduces microbial numbers and increases the susceptiblity to antimicrobial preparations. Instil 0.5ml-1.5ml Otoflush into the ear, massage and allow dog to shake out the excess, wiping clean with cotton wool. Repeat until the solution expelled returns clear. Repeat procedure twice daily for 7 days, before applying the medicated ear drops. Repeat once weekly for ongoing routine ear cleaning. Wait 10 minutes after cleaning the ears before applying the medicated ear drops.- Sonotix Ear cleaner – A unique triple action ceruminolytic formula, also moisturising and soothing, and contains lipacides that aid in sebum regulation. Fill the ear canal with Sonotix, massage gently and allow dog to shake out the excess, wiping clean with cotton wool. Repeat until the solution expelled returns clear. Repeat procedure twice daily for 7 days, before applying the medicated ear drops. Repeat once weekly for ongoing routine ear cleaning. Wait 10 minutes after cleaning the ears before applying the medicated ear drops. Do not use if there is suspicion of a rupture of the tympanic membrane. Stop use if there appears to be increased ear irritation, drowsiness or dizziness. Aim for weekly to 2 weekly basis as a maintenance ear cleaning program.- Dermotic Ear Drops 40ml – Apply 7drops or 0.7mL into LEFT ear TWICE a day for 10 days.
