Reason: Eaten A Lot Of Things No Supposed ToAppointment Notes: Poss rat bait - 10:30pm last nightConsult Time: 1955History: Mabel presented for possibly nibbling off the side of some rat bait yesterday - unsure of brand or active ingredient. Otherwise EDDU normally, bright with no vomiting or diarrhoea. Examination: Demeanour: BAR!!!Vitals: HR=PR= 180 , mm pink, CRT <2 sec, RR 32CVS: NAD on auscultation. No murmurs or arrhythmias noted. Pulses normal. Resp: NAD on auscultation. Normal bronchovesicular sounds. Normal respiratory effort and character at rest.Abdo: comfortable on palpation. MSK: normal gait. EENO: NADL/N: peripheral lymph nodes WNLIntegument: NADNeuro: No cranial or peripheral neurological deficits noted.Hydration: No clinical evidence of dehydrationNausea: None seen. Eating very well in consult Assessment: 1. Rat bait ingestion 24 hours ago - too late to induce emesis A: offered the following options: 1) commence antidote vitamin K1 for 28 days 2) consider clotting tests tomorrow (48h mark from ingestion) - if clotting normal, unlikely to be clinically. If abnormal, would recommend starting vitamin K1.O elects for option 2. Plan: Gabapentin dispensed for sedation prior to vet visit for clotting tests to be performed tmr (PT, APTT). Treatment: Consent has been given by the client to proceed with this treatment - Yes1.
