<p>HISTORY:<br>EDDU: Eating well on Advanced all ages food from shelter, drinking well, first episode of diarrhoea this morning, no urination issues mentioned<br>- Had kitten for 2 weeks from shelter<br>- Indoor only until April after last vaccination<br>- Have 5 year old cat who is unhappy with new kitten<br>- Kitten tears around, very playful and active<br>- Started yowling at night when locked in bedroom</p>
<p>Current diet: Advanced all ages food from shelter<br>Parasite prevention used: Revolution and Bravecto</p>
<p>Weight: 2 kg<br>Temperature: good/normal</p>
<p>EXAMINATION: <br>Dental/Mouth: Erupting teeth, recently lost canine, gingivitis present, small dot on LHL side behind upper canine where tooth fell out, no oral lesions, mouth looking clean<br>Chest: Heart sounds good<br>Otherwise NAD<br>Demeanour: BAR, very playful, active kitten</p>
<p>PROBLEM LIST:<br>- Malodorous breath<br>- Flatulence <br>- Acute diarrhoea<br>- Erupting teeth with gingivitis<br>- Desexing wound healing</p>
<p>DDx:<br>- Malodorous breath: Erupting teeth with associated gingivitis and bleeding<br>- Flatulence and diarrhoea: Stress related, dietary, potential infection, parasites</p>
<p>ASSESSMENT: Kitten appears healthy overall with normal teething process causing mouth odour. Desexing wound healing well. Single episode of diarrhoea likely stress or diet related given recent rehoming. No immediate concerns but monitoring required.</p>
<p>TREATMENT in consult room/Meds dispensed:<br>None dispensed</p>
<p>VET TECH actions:<br>Generate client summary in VetNotes <br>Email handout: Kitten information pack, probiotic options, gastrointestinal kitten food options</p>
<p>PLAN: <br>- Switch to kitten food gradually<br>- Consider probiotics for gastrointestinal issues<br>- Monitor diarrhoea - if continues or blood present, faecal sample may be needed<br>- Consider wet kitten food temporarily for extra moisture<br>- Gentle tooth brushing may help with mouth odour<br>- Remove lily plants from household due to toxicity risk<br>- FIV vaccination recommended if going outside - can be done with next vaccines on April 2nd<br>- Continue current parasite prevention but note Bravecto paralysis tick prevention only lasts 10 weeks not 3 months</p>
