<html><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"><p>Vital Signs:<br>- Temp: 37.9°C (normal)<br><br>History:<br>- Presented for lethargy and inappetence. On Wednesday, still ate but was quite tired. Morning walks continued but at nighttime was not playing as usual and wanted to stay in the house. On Thursday, did not eat dinner. This morning, did not eat either. Woke owners three times after 10pm to go outside. This morning, most faeces were solid with one on the pathway that may have been loose. Drinking appears normal. No vomiting observed during the day. No grass eating observed. No changes in gait noted.<br>- On tick prevention with monthly Simparica (up to date) and three-monthly Bravecto (last given January, due beginning of next month). Vaccinated with C5, up to date.<br>- Energy levels reduced, quieter than usual, not playing like normal.<br>- Recently returned from camping trip over the weekend, last day of camping was Monday. No new treats or diet changes since returning, though accidentally given adult food one day which was then stopped. No doggy daycare this week. No contact with new dogs. Occasionally attends off-leash dog areas including Gordon Park but not this week.<br><br>Physical Exam Findings:<br>- Mentation: Alert.<br>- Behaviour: Cooperative during examination.<br><br>MM:<br>- Pink and moist, good hydration.<br><br>Cardiovascular:<br>- Heart rate slightly slow but suspected to be normal for this individual.<br><br>Diagnostic Results:<br>- Complete blood count and biochemistry performed. Lymphocytes slightly low, glucose slightly elevated, globulins slightly low. These abnormalities together are not concerning and may represent normal variation in a young dog. Hydration good, liver good, kidneys good, no anaemia, no signs of infection.<br><br>Assessment:<br>- Problem list:<br>1. Gastroenteritis (likely mild)<br>2. Possible early urinary tract infection (to monitor)<br><br>Plan:<br>- Probiotic with anti-diarrhoea agent: 5ml orally twice daily for 3-5 days (Prokolin)<br>- Anti-nausea medication (Cerenia) to be given tonight using tablets owner has at home.<br>- Monitor closely over next 24-48 hours for vomiting, diarrhoea, bloody faeces, increased water intake, increased urination, or abnormal urine appearance or odour.<br>- If signs of urinary tract infection develop, return for further investigation and treatment.<br>- Bravecto due beginning of next month.<br><br>Communications:<br>- Discussed differential diagnoses including leptospirosis, foreign body ingestion, and gastroenteritis. Explained that time frame from camping to symptom onset is longer than typical incubation period for most causes. Discussed that blood results are reassuring with no signs of serious organ dysfunction, infection, or anaemia. Advised that current presentation is most consistent with mild gastroenteritis. Discussed importance of monitoring for urinary tract infection signs including increased drinking, increased urination, and abnormal urine. Explained that if symptoms worsen or do not improve, to return for further investigation.</p></html>
