Reason:  Reaction on skin to collar that was placed on her while owners were awayAppointment Notes: .History: Owner was away and a friend looked after Daisy. Upon their return they saw Daisy had a collar on that her skin was reacting to. They removed it but her skin is very red and sore and she's been scratching it a lot. Now starting to smell too. Quieter than usual but still eatingExamination: BAR (sweet natured, stressed with clippers and sore)MM pink CRT< 2secThoracic ausc NADBCS 5/9Skin: moist malodorous dermatitis around neck in area where collar would have been (collar has been removed prior to arrival here). Matted fur with yellow exudate and oozing/bleeding dermatitis underneath it - affecting the entire circumference of her neck. Rest of skin NAD. Ears and eyes NADPLN NADAssessment: Severe hot spot - neck circumference (severe)Plan: Discussed need to clip this area but on our attempt this was too painful for Daisy - recomm sedation and o agreed.Sedation: Domitor 0.5ml/ Torbugesic 0.25ml given SC - good level of sedationClipped matted fur - very inflamed skin and malodorous. Bleeding and uncomfortable even with sedationCleaned with dilute hexawash. Rinsed with cool water. Dried.
