Reason: Sore BackSubjective:Noted sore back for past 2 days - signs improving with rest and much better todaySymptoms include not jumping up on owner, being off, not wagging tail - had similar incident a year ago, resolved with pain medsNot on any medications/supplement at the moment. Axillary temp 37.4°CBAR, good oral hygiene. BCS 7/9. HS LS EENT LN fine. Pinkish moist mm. CRT<2S. Friendly. Abd palpation soft and comfy. L patellar grade 2 luxation. R patellar intact. Gait: No noticable lameness. Equally developed thigh muscles. Spinal palpation mid lumbar increased sensitivity. Tail and anal tone normal. CP all normal. General skin nsf, ear pinnae and FL paws nsf.Assessment & Plan:1. Sore back/spinal discomfortConservative management with anti-inflammatory medication and rest for a week Onsior 20mg 1tb po sid 3d to start today Xray appt booked in next Monday - in case soreness minimally imporved over time and Onsior -> TCB for sedated xray, needs to fast for sedation, if condition improves, to call back by Friday to cancel Monday's appt Quotation sent over email for Nadia - includes TAHP + sedation + Catheryn Walse Interpretation2. Regarding occasional licking Try zyrtec 10mg 1.5tb po sid as necessary and see if it improves the licking -> if yes then it can confirm licking is more because of pruritus rather boredom.
