POC - O is concerned about pain due to his demeanour, more sooky then normalR hind leg became swollen again yesterday, o rebandaged and put sock over to top him licking. Was licking the foot prior to it swelling. Eating treats at breakfast normally but is not as interested in dinner as he was prior to surgery, having to hand feed and eating in small amounts multiple times. feels this has been worse last few days. Drinking normallyno vomiting no diarrhoea except one 4 nights ago, no blood- O clean with salty water and light bandage + boost to cover for protection, see licking no limping, would tell to stop licking. - Hard to get tablets in ( spits out 5-6 times ), seems to be in pain.- Fussy with food not eating dry food so giving loaf + jerky + chicken breast and treats. Finishing food slower than normal but still eating. WH E- RH Dew claw removal site : mild swollen and serosanguinous discharge - LH dew claw removal site : incision heals, with mild erythema. - Castration site : healed completely. A- LH dew claw removal site : delay healing P- O to continue cleaning the surgical site with salty water and swabs and covers to prevent from licking, replace the cover daily and monitor. Continue cephalexin BID ( O to try dissolve in water and give with syringe ), add in meloxicam SID with food and reassess in 3 days. O to contact for picking up clavulox if still fail to give the ab. - Needs rechecking until the surgical site heals completely.
