12/03/2026 Ears

History: usually sees MR vet. Was seen for severe ear infection ~2w ago. "bad infection", o thinks the vet said rods were involved. Got ear meds in unlabelled bottle as well as gentle ear cleaner. Ear has improved but o unsure if fully good. Does not tend to get ear problems. Otherwise coping well, EDUF normal and stable mobility on meloxicam (?) and gabapentin. Rosehip supplement made big difference.

CLINICAL EXAM:
Left ear: wnl, mild discharge in canal, no erythema/swelling, TM appears intact.
Right ear: Pinna greasy from ear meds. Scoped mild erythema, no swelling in canal. Meds covering TM mixed with mild brown discharge.

TREATMENT:
Chatted about options for otitis. Too early for cytology today as meds all over ear canal. Recommended to continue meds as per MR vet, and book recheck a few days after finishing tx either with us or MR vet.
Hx from MR vet:
- unilateral rods+++++++ OE
- dex/enro BID x10d (would finish tomorrow) after gentle ear cleaner
- recheck after finished tx

Cleaned both ears with epiotic SIS. O happy with plan.

C/C 5-7d.
