CH- R/C back legs/meds Patient Presented for: History: not posturing properly to toilet struggling to get up small stairs in house no travel Hx for anyone in house recently no raw chicken fed - all cooked foods no v+/d+, no change to bark meds - paracetamol last given approx. 2.40pm today Clinical Exam: BAR Painful caudal thoracic spine Patellar reflexes present bilaterally, poss slightly increased Withdrawal reflex present bilaterally. Superficial pain present bilaterally VMF intact - not ataxic at normal walk however when challenged by ramp or pulled on lead, back legs give out periodically CP normal all 4 limbs BT 39.3 Differential Diagnosis: T3-L3 spinal cord lesion - IVDD, neoplasia, congenital deformity, infectious/meningitis, other? Test Results: Spinal rads - small amt intervertebral mineralisation L1-L2. Otherwise unremarkable Definitive Diagnosis: Plan: Continue paracetamol Add gabapentin 200mg PO tonight and in morning Recommend referral to specialist for neurology assessment and advanced imaging ASAP. Keep VERY quiet overnight - cage rest only, must carry out to toilet on harness, no neck leash. Pet insurance - Y/N Is this a Gaponly Claim- Y/N
