Reason: Broken Dew ClawHistory:Didn't see anything happen or hear him yelp. Saw the blood just before. EDDU normalExamine:- BAR- Ears/ eyes/ skin - dew claw torn and bleeding- LNs - Peripheral LNs WNLs. - Thoracic auscultation - No audible murmur or arrhythmia, normal bronchovesicular sounds. - Abdominal palpation - Soft, comfortable, no palpable anomalies. - MSK - No lameness observed, complete MSK exam not performed. - Neuro - Appropriate mentation, no ataxia. Complete neuro exam not performed. - Genitourinary - NSF.Treatment:Sedated with 0.005mg/kg medetomidine (0.15mL) and 0.2mg/kg butorphanol (0.6mL) IMFoot cleaned with chlorhex.Dewclaw removed.Plan:Meloxicam and antibiotics, owner to keep foot clean and e-collar on (wants to purchase from kmart), post op check 5 days.
