Concerns: Puppy was dropped about an hour and a half ago. Front right leg is now not wanting to walk on it at all. EDDU normally: Yes. PU/PD: No. Vomiting or diarrhoea: No. Coughing or sneezing: No. Behavioral changes: No. Examination: BAR, TPR WNL. No murmurs or arrythmias auscultated. Non-weightbearing RF. Screaming in pain when elbow palpated. DDx/Problem List: Suspect fracture. Treatment: 0.03mL Medetomidine 1mg/mL + 0.15mL Methadone 10mg/mL + 0.03mL Ketamine 100mg/mL IM. Moderate sedation achieved. 0.3mL Alfax IV. AP and lateral radiographs no visible fractures noted. Reversed with 0.03mL Atipamezole IM. Already putting weight on leg post-reversal. Plan: 0.2mL Meloxicam PO SID for 5 days, starting tonight. Repeat radiographs if lameness recurrant or any valgus/varus noted as he grows.
