05/03/2026 Reason for Visit: 5 day hx of not eating. 

H:
Drax was presented today due to a 5 day history of not eating.
This week he tore up a bed which was filled with small packing foam type material. May have ingested it. 
No known access to toxins however lots of possums on the property and Drax is an outside dog. 
No known vomits however there have been pale spots of diarrhoea around the paddock in which Drax is kept.
Was very lethargic on sunday night however energy levels seem to have improved slightly. 

E:
Examined from a distance in boot of car. Could not get near the dog. 
O took HR (was a human nurse) - 120
O pressed on abdomen and did not seem painful, O described as soft.
RR - 32
No other parameters could be taken due to patient temperament. 

Anaesthetic: medetomidine 0.015mg/kg and butorphanol 0.3mg/kg SC 

Diagnostics:

Haem - WNL
Chem - Mild hyperphosphataemia, others WNL
Spec CPL - Normal

Radiographs
No obstructive pattern on radiographs today. Fluid filled stomach. 

A:
Enteritis > gastritis > colitis

P:
Ondansetron 0.5mg/kg BID 5 days
Prokolin 10ml BID 3 days
Monitor for signs of worstening, if no improvement then represent for Abdo US / other diagnostics. 

C:

10/03/2026 Comms:

Eating boiled chicken and rice at the moment.
