Consult notes
12/03/2026 History:
- Recheck for corneal ulcer
- Eye drops and meloxicam being administered
- Still rubbing eye against carpet/bed
- Improved from earlier presentation but not 100%

Physical Exam Findings:
Eyes: Fluorescein stain positive - ulcer still present. Approximately two-thirds healed. Multiple shades of green staining noted indicating loose epithelium. Loose edge starting to lift off again.

Assessment:
- Problem list:
1. Persistent corneal ulcer with incomplete healing

Plan:
- Debride loose edge of ulcer (cotton tip debridement)
- Continue meloxicam
- Continue Chlorsig eye drops
- Owner to obtain additional Chlorsig from chemist
- May be more inflamed for a couple of days post-debridement

Communications:
- Discussed ulcer healing progress - approximately two-thirds healed but loose epithelium still present
- Discussed debridement procedure - removes only loose portion, preserves healed sections
- Discussed specialist referral option (diamond bur debridement) - not indicated at this stage as improving with current management
recheck 1 week
