<html><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"><div> <div><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong><span style="font-family: 'Arial Bold'; font-weight: bold;">Progressive Vet Care Glen Iris</span><br><br>Reminders checked: </strong>yes/no<strong><br><br>HISTORY</strong>: owners noticed Otis had sore ears and seemed bothered by them last few days<br>he has been otherwise well<br>they have also noticed a rash on his caudoventral abdominal area but they do not think he is itching this area<br>not on any meds atm<br><strong>EXAMINATION</strong>: both pinnae and ext ear canals redness and discharge but R ear worse<br><strong>R ear also has a small to medium aural haematoma on the mdial aspect of the pinnae<br>there is erythema and pustules on caudoventral adominal area looks like superficial pyoderma<br>seems otherwise well<br></strong>Laboratory: L ear cocci large amounts present, occ yeats<br>R ear 4++ cocci and 4++ rods present<br><strong>DIAGNOSIS</strong>: bilateral otitis externa R ear rods and occi, L ear coccci and yeast<br><strong>R ear medial small to medial aural haematoma<br></strong><br><strong>TREATMENT</strong>: 1.5mls triple bova polaxamer containing enrofloxacin, trimacinolone and fluconazole in both eras<br><strong>macrolone for the aural haematoma 10mg daily then reduce</strong><br>pyohex conditioner daily for the superficial pyoderma<br>might need oral antibtioics for skin<br><strong>PLAN</strong>: r/c fasted on Friday, might need to sedate to drain the haematoma. If is remains fairly small should be able to use lignociane and drain with needle and instill a little depomed rather than go stright to full surgery but see what you find<br><br><strong>Reminders updated: </strong>yes/no</span></div> </div></html>
