C10016199 / invoice 10000

Species:CANINE
Breed:Labrador
Age (years):10
Diagnosis or signs:Limping
Consult notes
11/03/2026 Reason: rechk lameness

Hx:
FO says carprofen has made no difference to the lameness
Still EDUF normal

Exam:
Q&A (normal for P)
MM pink, CRT < 2 secs

lame LH (approx 3/10ths was walking very slowly into consult room so difficult to put a grade on it)
Marked firm, poss boney swelling of distal MT II, in foot (above amputation site)
Bonnie is repeatedly painful on palpation of the area
Hock and stifle WNL
Hip has pretty good ROM for a 9 year old Lab and she only reacts towards limit of extension

Assessment: Whilst there is some hip pain and would assume OA given age and breed, I am concerned about the boney swelling above amputation site.
Looking back on Hx the digit was amputated at the MT/PI joint in Nov 25. It seemed there was postop wound break down but eventually healed well
The Dx from the incisional biopsies prior to amputation was of fibroadnexal dysplasia which was the same as from the FNA samples taken in Jan25 (Fibroadnexal hamartoma or sebaceous gland tumour).

We need imaging of LH foot and hip (would image the entire leg and any comparative images of RH as needed on the day). O keen

Tx: Stop carprofen (last dose was this AM). Start Paracetamol 665mg (Osteo)TID. Start Previcox after 4 day washout from carprofen

Plan: Booked in for GA Rads on Tuesday (O would like me to do )
