Reason: Admit for Thoracic RadiographsHistory: Last night was last doxy dose, this am 6am Pimo, no breakfast.No coughing overnight other than when had a drink once and gagged a bit.  RRR last night was taken at 30bpm.Examination: BAR, HR 120 and RR 28 once settled in cage - there is some increased breath sounds caudal lhs but sounds coarser like airway inflammation rather than crackles.Treatment: Given 0.25ml methone im left cervical muscle for some sedation for rads.Radiographs: Left and Right Lateral and Ventrodorsal Thoracic Radiographs taken.Very enlarged cardiac silhouette with right atrial enlargement.  No obvious tracheal collapse or pulmonary masses seen. As discussed with owner, sent rads to BVSc for their opinion on whether further meds indicated at this stage or whether recheck with Cardiologist indicated sooner than scheduled recheck.  Owner unsure of when that is and there is no reassessment interval on the last report but it has now been 7mths since seen after there had been significant progression of his disease so may be indicated now that his RRR is increasing.EMAIL with attached Radiographs sent to BVSc -->>ATTN CardiologyPlease find attached patient history for Bertie Brown who is in your care for Mitral Valve Disease.  Bertie has recently had increasing Resting Respiratory Rate which is persistent.  He has also had a cough which has responded to a course of Doxycycline which only finished yesterday.Today he has had a set of Thoracic Radiographs taken with some IM Methadone on board only and we attach these for your interpretation and advice.
