Presented and seen by Dr KS @ 7:20pm/10/3/25Regular Vet: KS Presenting Problem: irritated by feet for several daysHistory:History - irritated by feet for several days does not want paws touched but normally allows paws to be touched. - Has been on walk in bushes- shaking and collapsing - and tucking in feet - since saturday has seemed a bit off - yesterday ate ok - unsure if ate today - saturday had firm poo then one bout of loose stool but no more diarrhoea - No vomiting Vaccinations / worming - probably UTD w/in 1 mo - all done at the regular vet - owner will call regular vet in morning to confirm UTD paralysis tick preventionMedications: none others Medical - none reported Examination Findings:General demeanour: BAR, nervousTemperature: 39.42Cardiovascular: HR 156, no murmur, pulses adequate. Respiratory: 200Oral exam: mm-pi, crt 2s, tackyAbdomen: soft and comfortable. Peripheral LNs: WNLEyes/Ears: WNLIntegument: skin on paws WNL. Occasional small brown flecks high up in interdigital space particularly on HL paws. Musculoskeletal: WNLGait: WNL Neurological: WNLRectal exam: EAG LEFT side ++, right side WNLUrogenital: WNLBody Condition Score: 5/9Darkfield microscopy on brown fleck showed larval tickInitial Assessment: Larval tick infestationClient Communication:Advised client we can sedate and give frontline spray to kill ticks immediately however if UTD with tick prevention this step is not necessary - Owner is fairly sure she is UTD tick prevention but would like to consult with RV on this in AM and would prefer to avoid sedationIramine 4mg PO bid ADVISED can INI overnight can come in for sedation and frontline spray Vital Signs
