Duration over one month with no improvement.<br>Other: Owner reports difficulty with rest due to two-story house and patient becomes distressed when contained.</p><p>EXAM<br>Mentation: <br>Wt: 5.9 kg<br>BCS: Slightly overweight<br>T: <br>HR: <br>R: <br>MM: <br>Hydration: <br>Behavioural: Patient becomes very vocal and distressed during nail trimming procedures<br>Eyes: <br>Ears: <br>Nose: <br>Throat: <br>Oral: <br>Cardiovascular: <br>Respiratory: <br>Abdominal: <br>Lymph Nodes: <br>Integumentary: Long nails noted and trimmed<br>Neurologic: <br>Musculoskeletal: No lameness observed during examination. Hip has good range of motion, stifle has good range of motion. Patella stable and in place. No complaints on hip extension but patient quite tense during examination.<br>Urogenital: <br>Rectal: </p><p>ASSESSMENT<br>Left hind limb lameness when cold - Patient not demonstrating lameness during examination today. Long nails present but unlikely to be primary cause of lameness issue.</p><p>PLAN<br>Medications/Treatments:<br>- Nail trim performed today<br>- Pain relief offered but declined by owner who prefers to monitor</p><p>Additional Discussion:<br>- Owner to monitor patient for improvement following nail trim<br>- If no improvement, radiographs recommended with estimated cost between $800-$1000<br>- Weight monitoring advised due to slightly overweight body condition</p>
