History:Fuji attends for a recheck of a skin condition.ConcernsSkin condition has worsened since the last visit.The ear is more red than last time and he is shaking his head frequently.Significant hair loss on a previously shaved area, with discoloured and peeling skin.Lethargic and has a reduced appetite and thirst.Finished a 7-day course of prednisolone the day before yesterday.O reports the ear became red two days after the previous consultation.Parasite prevention: Up to date.Health history: Adopted from a rescue. Initially presented to another veterinarian for a lump on the ear and a scratch. Mostly indoors but has some access to the backyard.Current medications: All medications have been ceased as per recommendation today.Examination:Demeanour: LethargicOral: Not assessedEyes/nose/ears: Erythema of the ear pinna.Cardiorespiratory: Not assessedAbdomen: Not assessedSkin: On a previously shaved area, there is significant alopecia, erythema, and skin desquamation. The lesions are reported to be pruritic. Pyrexia noted.BCS: Not assessedDiagnostics:BloodworkBloods were taken for routine IDEXX total annual health profile.Assessment:Suspected cutaneous vasculitisDiscussed pathophysiology including immune-mediated, allergic, or drug reaction triggers.Recommended skin biopsies under sedation for definitive diagnosis.Cease all current medications, including prednisolone, pending results.Plan:Vet to phone with blood results tomorrow or the day after.Provide estimate for skin biopsies.O to monitor closely and continue use of the cone to prevent self-trauma..
