Reason: Bandage Change With Kate / Josie Appointment Notes: Potentially discuss moving care to GP at Gabba if he does not want to return to YerongaAssessment:-Triage level- 5 Remove and replace bandage. Darcy is 2hours post trazadone + gabapentin administration. Antibiotics and sedation prescribed by reg vet have now concluded. Owner reports Darcy is non weight bearing and holds his foot off the floor 99% of the time. Managing to hop along on 3 legs effortlessly. #10 Blade to remove bandage placed at AEC on Monday. Bottom of bandage is damp from wound exudate. Some odour underneath bandage - wound very moist - see photo attached. Leave owner in the room with Darcy to give the paw a thorough soak (over 5min) in Aqueous Chlorhexidine. Darcy handling bandage removal much much better today - still muzzled and licking at a puppy food covered lick mat, but not reactive to touch today. Pat dry with clean dry swabs - tolerable of light pressure placed directly on the wound today - a marked improvement. Photo 2 attached of wound after soak and dry. Replaced bandage with cotton placed between all toes, manuka honey on melonin placed over paw padSoff ban, elastoplast vet wrap bandage placed to just above the carpus.Owner reports he would like to transfer Darcy's care to Gx Woolloongabba - request history and lab results to be sent from reg vet. Plan:Await history from rev vet with results of swab before administering a repeat course of antibiotics.Hand over to Dr Hedi regarding plan and medications moving forward. Medication request for Antibiotics. Gabapentin and Trazadone from Gx Woolloongabba to keep costs minimal for client. Owner takes advantage of gap only - claim for meds to be put forth before collection this afternoon. Book in with Dr Hedi on Friday for bandage change and assessment - Owner has plans to go camping this weekend - cautioned MUST keen bandage clean and dry - gave owner more bandage covers and vet wrap at todays visit.
