10/03/2026 Nurse Entry In with - jesse - partner Parasite control - Diet - dr Will - recent change from lyka. Fish and kangaroo and kibble. Subjective: O removed grass seeds from Barnaby bear all the time. Yesterday noticed what felt like a seed under the skin in the groin area. Today is seems smaller - concerned it has migrated. Generally well otherwise. Check ears please - has been swimming lately. Is known to get OE occasionally. Check AG today also please - has been scooting. Check hips - some concern re hip dysplasia. Objective: BAR. Nice dog, a bit worked up today - panting. Likes treats. mm pink, moist, crt < 2 sec eyes - nad ears - left ear mild erythema with very small amount of DC externally, canal looks ok. Cytol NSF. Right ear NSF. heart - normal systolic rhythm, rate - WNL lungs - nad abdo palpation - no pain, no masses musculoskeletal - manipulation of hips well tolerated, good ROM. No ortolani sign. genitourinary - dental - DG 1-2 Integument - Lateral recumbancy with nurse help and treats - tolerated ok but panting and wanting to get up. Small scabbed over entry wound in left groin area. Clipped. Lignocaine spray. Allegator forceps - able to remove a seed (part seed?). More lignocaine spray, opened wound up a bit with forceps. Explored further, doesn't track. No more FB found. Leave open to heal, keep clean. Temp - not taken Checked AG - not well tolerated. Both feel empty. Assessment and plan: Grass seed removed. Cant find more but informed Jesse that occasionally we miss parts - monitor and RV if doesn't heal or any further concerns. Would likely need an incision and opening right up if this happens. AG NSF today Hips clinically normal but informed that mild hip dysplasia can be difficult to detect on exam. Best to focus on weight loss (going well so far) and keeping fit. Monitor for discomfort. Ears look ok today. Advised an ear flush may help after swimming with drying ears out.
