Reason: Not Eating And LethargicHistory: Evie has presented today for a recent history of inappetence and lethargy which first started 48hrs ago. She ate a small amount of food yesterday for dinner but has not wanted to eat anything today. She has a normal diet of whiskers wet food and kibble and she usually has a good appetite. She has been hiding more than normal and seeming not like her usual self.Had diaphragmatic hernia repair surgery at Gatton UQVETS - December 17 2025 - recovered well from the surgery.No recent vomiting or diahorrea.Multi-cat household, no outdoor access.Examine: BAR, friendly and interactive with environment.EENT: bright clear eyes, nil nasal discharge, clean ears, gums pink and moistCV: strong, synchronous rhythm, no murmur or arrhythmia.Resp: slight increase in respiratory rate (likley stress), normal respiratory rate, increased bronchovesicular sounds bilaterally.Abdo: soft and comfortable on palpationUrogenital: nil vulval discharge or swellingInteg: coat is well groomed and shiny, nil wounds or masses notedMSK: ambulating comfortably around consult room, full exam not performed.Temp:39.4CLaboratory:  Results:FeLV/FIV SNAP test - negative/negativeCBC - red cell count low end normal, MCHC upper end normal - may be a variation of normal/young cat.Biochem - all parameters within reference interval.Assessment: Mild pyrexia - FUO, given normal bloodwork may be due to stress from the heat, mild viral infection or pre-clinical gastroenteritis - owner given the option for hospitalisation overnight with supportive care and monitoring or management at home with anti-inflammatories and ant-nausea medication to symptomatically manage her. Owner aware that if no improvement in 24-48hr to contact clinic or sooner if any deterioration at home for hospitalisation.Treatment: Meloxicam 0.1mg/kg PO SID for 3-5 daysOndansetron 0.75mg/kg PO BID as needed Plan:Treatment trial with anti-inflammatories and anti-nausea medication at home.If no improvement/deterioration - will hospitalise/repeat bloodwork.--- 05/02/2026 13:05:44 BJW:Examinations - 03/02/2026 14:48:46 RG Deferred: I rang Mrs Leggatt to see how Evie was progressing.
