Hx of scavenging. Typical diet is RC gastrointestinal, but will often look for other foods to eat - History of a sensitive stomach and has been unwell for approximately four weeks previously due to gastrointestinal issues.- PMHx: Known heart murmur. - Faeces have been okay for the past two days, but were previously loose- Social Hx: Has been getting into the bin recently, as the owner has recently moved into a new house, now a housemate. May have ingested something from the bin within the last week.EXAMINATION:Demeanour: BAREyes: Bright and clear with no dischargeEars: Clean with no discharge or foul odourOral: Gums are pink and moist. Mild tartar present.Cardiovascular: Heart murmur III-IV/VI auscultated, consistent with previous findings. Respiratory: Normal lung sounds in all fields.Abdomen: Generally soft on palpation, although did react to caudal palpation. Increased flatulence noted at home.Integument: Appears normal.MSK: Ambulating normally.Urogenital: Normal temperature. On rectal examination, faeces palpated were soft. Externally NAD.LABORATORY:None todayASSESSMENT:1. Suspected gastroenteritis secondary to dietary indiscretion. The ongoing signs of gassiness and discomfort are likely due to gut inflammation that has not fully resolved. The vomiting episode is likely secondary to this.TREATMENT:1. Prevomax 3.9mL SCPLAN:- Strict gastrointestinal diet. Advised no other food items to allow the gut to settle.- Commence probiotics. Dispensed 4 days worth (3 sachets per day). To be added to food daily. Advised this is for long-term gut support and can be continued if effective- Re-check consultation in one week to monitor progress. If not improving, further work-up will be required.
