Reason: EyeHISTORY:Presented for assessment of a right eye issue. The owner noticed a significant amount of ocular discharge from the right eye upon waking today. The eye may have been slightly red over the past few days, but the discharge was most noticeable this morning. No squintingNo known traumaPast history includes kennel cough in December, which has resolved, although there is an occasional single cough after significant exertion or drinking a lot of water quickly. There is also a history of OE, which are currently managed with a 2x/weekly ear cleaner (Epiotic). The owner also reports an incident approximately one month ago where emesis was induced after accidental ingestion of a grape. Displayed avoidance behaviour, growling, and stress signals (yawning, licking) when attempts were made to examine or clean the face and eyes. Did snap and try to nip twice throughout. It was explained that the condition should improve within a few days and resolve within a week. Instructions were provided to discontinue the drops and seek re-evaluation if the condition deteriorates. The owner was advised on techniques for administering eye drops to an anxious dog, such as using a Lickimat for distraction. The importance of positive reinforcement and desensitisation for handling was discussed. The 'Healthy Pets Plus' wellness plan was discussed as an option to facilitate regular, low-stress social visits and cover routine care costs, including free consultations, a free vaccination, and discounts on desexing, parasite control, and food, for an annual fee of approximately $600.
