Hesitant jumping up onto furniture and into car, seems in pain when owner has to lift her. Still ok energy levels when moving - gets Zoomies once daily and likes to go for arvo walks. No specific traumatic event witnessed. Pants when sleeping occasionally, mainly on hot days.Subjectively has always drunk a lot, but not >70ml/kg/day.Diet is cooked food + some dry food + Osteocare chews, owner considering adding Rosehip supplement.Examination:BAR, BCS 3.25/5, NAD chest auscultation. Tense abdominal palpation. Eyes bilateral nuclear sclerosis. Ears ok. Visible teeth ok. MM pink, CRT 1 sec.Lns WNL. Orthopaedic exam limited - went to bite on lumbar spinal palpation.Bilateral thigh musculature symmetrical on distant exam.Multiple small SC masses, none of concern.Assessment:Main Ddx: DJD. Offered radiographs to confirm, owner elected for empirical management. Will find difficult to bring to vet for injections (Synovan or Beransa).Treatment:Meloxicam 0.2mg/kg loading dose, 0.1mg/kg PO SID ongoing.Plan:Blood taken for PAS. Await results.
