Reason: Cut Paw, Chloe Vetcx Running 5 Mins LateHistory: Jemima has an oyster cut/gash on her right forepaw beside the pad, going up into the webbing - sustained on Saturday afternoon - minimal blood initially, but has been limping and sensitive to walking on grass. Owner concerned about developing infection - started leftover amoxicillin clavulanate 500mg PO BID yesterday. Lump under her jaw where she was scratched - doesn't seem bothered by it. Otherwise well - normal energy levels & EDUF. No vomiting/diarrhoea. No coughing/sneezing. Diet: lyka + raw egg + R/c maxi kibble Preventatives: nexgard spectra monthly UTD, drontal 3 monthly UTDMedication: herbal calming supplement powder with lyka, amoxicillin clavulanate 500mg PO BID, trazodone 200mg PO this morning Objective: Quiet, alert and responsive. Weight gain of 440 grams. Eyes/ears/nose: NAD. Mouth: unable to examine as head shy. Integument: ~ 1.5cm diameter alopecic mass effect left ventral cervical skin - will not tolerate examination today. Right forepaw ~ 1cm laceration immediately lateral to the carpal pad with scabbing - will not tolerate further examination. Thoracic auscultation NAD. Abdominal palpation NAD. Peripheral lymph nodes NAD. Plan:Diltute chlorhexidine wash BID if will tolerate, amoxicillin clavulanate 500mg PO BID x 5 days. Paracetamol 375mg PO q8-12hrs PRN for analgesia as historically diairrhoea with NSAIDs. Chill pill (gabapentin 300-300mg/trazodone 150-200mg) PO BID PRN to keep settled. Recheck in 5 days. O requests trazodone to generally have on hand for future use - advised not to use in combination with the chill pills.
