PRESENTING COMPLAINT: lump between toes LHL
HISTORY:
- Os had been away for the weekend with Reggie, noticed he was lame on the LHL this morning and discovered a lump between digits 4+5 on the ventral aspect of the left hind limb. 
- Hx of atopic dermatitis and has had mast cell tumours removed in the past. 
CLINICAL FINDINGS: 
Sub: BAR
Obj: HR: WNL , MM pink, moist CRT<2 T: 38.2
Cardiovascular: no notable murmurs or arrythmias auscultated, femoral pulses good and synchronous
Respiratory: normal respiratory rate and effort, normal bronchovesicular sounds on auscultation, no visible nasal discharge
Gastrointestinal: soft comfortable abdomen on palpation, no strong repeatable focus of pain,
Musculoskeletal: no strong repeatable focus of pain on gentle manipulation of limbs and joints, no notable lameness on walk
Neurological: cranial nerves intact, no notable ataxia
Integument: raised lump approx 2cm in diameter between digits 4+5 LHL. Aspirated approx 2ml of haemopurulent fluid. Lump still large and raised. 
Attempted to apply emlar and instill lignocaine for further exploration however this was not tolerated but Reggie. 
Otic/Ocular: normal ocular and otic structures
Lymph Nodes: no peripheral lymphadenopathy noted

DIFFERENTIALS:
Abscess vs FB vs necrotic tumour (concern for MCT dt appearance but advised unlikely)
OPTIONS PROVIDED:
1. Admit for sedation + FNA for cytology to be sent + drainage, with no guarantee that this could be performed dt busy hospital. 
2. Pain relief and ABs and book in with reg vet as soon as possible for sedation, aspiration and drainage
O opted for option 2. 
TREATMENT:
17mg/kg amoxyclav BID for 7 days
Meloxicam SID for 3 days (Os have at home, texted them with dosing instructions).
