08/03/2026 HISTORY: She has an open wound around her anus, weeping, little bit of blood, noticed blood yesterday, wound today Never had any issues in the past No scooting noted, no hx of anal gland issues EDDU normal, BAR No V/D/C/S diet: royal canin dry food, absolute food no recent diet changes parasite prevention: milbemax monthly, bravecto Nil meds Bilateral hip dysplasia - surgically repaired regvet: petstock south morang Presented for: burst anal gland - in reception (ACM) EXAM: Mentation: BAR but aggressive, try to turn and bite but has e collar on BCS: 5/9 CV: HR: 150 BPM, no M Resp: normal rate, effort Abdo: soft, comfortable Rectal: R anal gland rupture, unable to perform rectal given patient size, moderate swelling of R AG, wound present approx 1cm in length over R AG ASSESSMENT: R AG rupture - ddx anal sacculitis vs AG infection vs neoplasia vs other PLAN: Clipped and cleaned wound Meloxicam 0.1mg/kg PO SID for 5 days Amoxclav 37.5mg BID for 5 days E collar on Topical cleaning with saline if dirty R/v with regvet in 7-10 days COMMUNICATION: send hx to petstock south morang
