Procedures performed:Juvenile pubic symphysiodesisSurgery:Ventral midline incision over the pubis.  Muscles separated on the midline until pubic bone exposed.  Identified the cranial 1/3.  Assistant placed finger rectally to protect the internal organs and detected any excessive heat.  Mild warmth detected at the cranial extent.  Probe held over most regions for 5-10 secs.  Bone very soft.  Cautery setting 30W (max for our machine).Closure: Muscles re-apposed with 3/0 PDO continuous.  Continuous 3/0 PDO SC layer. Skin closed with intradermal 3/0 PDO.   Light dressing over wound fitted.Medications:    _0.22_ mls Meloxicam@0.2mg/kg given sc in recovery  Dispensed a 5 day course of oral ABs - 125mg PO BIDDispensed 4 days of individual dog meloxicam doses20cm e-collar fittedPost op vitals: HR 116, Temp 37.3 and RR 24Offered food and/or water at  _3.30_pm   Plan:  Meloxicam oral syrup may start tomorrow night with dinnerAntibiotics may start tonight.Sent home with _4_ days of pain relief using meloxicam oral (0.37mls) @ 0.1mg/kg once daily with a meal.  Wound check in 10 days time.   Discharge - Standard discharge instructions with food and keeping quiet. Keep quiet and avoid too much activity. No baths or swimming for at least 10 days. O to remove light bandage at home TM
