Reason: Unwell. --- 09/03/2026 08:32:45 FOA:STO on phone. Chilli still has some D+. Owner got prime 100. Ate well after prevomax injection. Went away for the weekend - wasn't eating all of his food but 3/4 opf full portion three times a day. Was bright, eating well, had some blood in poo, quite runny. Mucus as well. Last night the smallest amount of fresh blood. Still bright, eating, playing. Advised come in for consult this arvo. History: Presented for ongoing soft stools since last Thursday. Stools are described as soft/squishy but formed, with some mucus. No blood noted in the sample provided today, however, a friend reported seeing blood in the stool previously. Vomited once last week (Wednesday or Thursday), which contained grass. Owner reports polyuria, but is unsure about polydipsia. Appetite and activity levels are good. Still itching. Possible ingestion of a garden repellent (methyl nonyl ketone) is considered by the owner, but this is unconfirmed.Current meds: Pro-Kolin, almost finished.Prophylaxis: not mentionedPre-existing conditions: Suspected environmental or food allergies causing pruritus.Examination:General appearance: BARWeight: 10.1kg BCS: 5/9MM: Pink and Moist   CRT: <2   Temp: 38.7Integument: Soft full coat with no lesions, ectoparasites or abnormalities evident.Ear: Clear with no discharge or abnormalities on external examinationOcular: Clear with no discharge or blepharospasm.Oral: no oral massesCardiac: No murmurs or arrhythmias were identified on auscultation.Respiratory: Clear BV sounds.Abdominal: Soft and no pain on palpation.Urinary/ Reproductive: No discharge or abnormalities were identified on external examination.Peripheral lymph nodes: Small, symmetrical, and mobile.Musculoskeletal: Ambulating normally with no lameness apparent. Full MSK exam not performed.Nervous System: Appropriate mentation, posture, gait, and postural reactions all appear normal. A full neuro exam was not performed.Hydration: GoodRectal: No masses strictures. No faeces. Laboratory:In-house faecal float performed on today's sample - will report results. Owner to provide a pooled faecal sample over the next 2-3 days for external laboratory analysis - send to idexx for FF. Assessment:Soft stools - R/O infectious causes (parasites), dietary indiscretion, food intolerance/allergy.Pruritus - R/O atopy, food allergy.Client communication:Discussed that as long as he remains bright, eating, and playful, we can wait a bit longer for the gut to resolve. If signs do not improve, a food trial with a hydrolysed protein diet would be the next step (derm complete puppy). Discussed the limitations of puppy-safe hypoallergenic diets. Advised against using the garden repellent granules. For the itchiness, recommended bathing with a gentle oatmeal shampoo (Aloveen) and conditioner to avoid drying out the skin. Advised washing food and water bowls daily with warm, soapy water. Discussed continuing with Pro-Kolin for 5 more days to help settle the gut. Discussed providing a pooled faecal sample over the next few days to be sent to the lab for a more comprehensive screen. Advised re-introducing any supplements slowly and one at a time once the gastrointestinal signs have resolved.Treatment:Pro-Kolin paste 3ml orally as needed or for the next 5 days.Consent has been given by the client to proceed with this treatment - YesPlan:Continue feeding current diet.
