query urinary tract infection
VETSTORIA - query urinary tract infection - weeing normally but then squatting with little/nothing coming out - since about Tuesday/Wednesday - Nellie (Dog) - Meredith Burns - 0409600685 - Consult [Veterinarian : Dr Ellen Bailey (Preferred Clinician)] - -

Hx:
Squatting and straining to urinate last 5 days approx; first urination is a normal wee. 
Defecation normal
Diet - dentastix, RC kibble, chicken neck, prime 100, veggies. 
Eaten this morning at 530am 
Medications - none 
UTD with flea and tick (nexgard)

Ex - 

Plan

check eye 
ultrasound bladder.

Hx
Licking LF and limping a little bit for the last 5 days 
EDDU fine 
Current meds - Had 3 doses of baby panadol over the last 5 days; not on any other meds. 

Ex - BAR, BCS 5/9, vitals normal
Temp 38
Heart and lungs sound normal 
LF foot - fur wet from licking; digits 4 and 5 midly swollen. Skin is moist and infected - swab cocci and some rods. 
Nails all intact 

Tx - cephalexin 250mg po bid 

Plan - recheck if not 100% resolved at end of course or if not improved in the next couple of days - if so may need medicated shampoo +/- pred

Hx:
--> She's been well apart from scooting/spinning, so may need anal glands cleared.

Clin:
--> HR 80 - no murmurs or arrhythmias; chest sounds clear; mm pink moist. NAD on abdo palp, LNs WNLs, ok coat and skin, clean eyes and ears, bilateral nuclear sclerosis, grade 1 dental disease, BCS 5/9, BAR.

Rx /  Plan:
--> 0.45ml proheart SR12 sc.
--> Protech C2i (3291022) sc, protech duramune adult C4 (5260011) sc & protech bronchishield oral (5245045B) po.
-->Expressed anal glands.
