04/03/2026 DATE/TIME of CONSULTATION: 19:07hrs, Wed 04/03/26 CLINICIAN: EH PRESENTING COMPLAINT: drooling and off food HISTORY: - no v+ but only ate half of his breakfast this am which is not normal for him. normal faeces. urinating fine. - drooling this evening and not interested in dental treat, still wanting to play with his ball and seems to have normal energy levels - Diet: "Be frank" kibble, and fruit - mango flesh and some watermelon - doesnt really eat random things on a walk, but will eat his own faeces - os have had rat bait on the house, no access (behind a ledge in a cupboard), and mice have been gone for 3-4 weeks duration, is possible he ate a dead mouse but not seen doing this - does like his food and the BC dog brother and him will compete for food at dinner/breakfast time reg - parasite prophylaxis - given y'day am (wormer) - no travel - have not had any caustic substances around the house CLINICAL FINDINGS: - BAR, pink moist gums, CRT 1-2 secs. Lip smacking. - HR 90, reg no audible murmur detected - Chest clear norm BV sounds all 4 quads RR 18 - laryngeal/tracheal palpation no reaction on pinch and nsf - abdo comfortable NSF on deep palpation - t 37.9, normal faeces on rectal - oral exam nsf, minimal tartar on carnassials - LN wnl - eyes/ears nsf - BCS - 6/9 PROBLEM LIST: - nauseous, suspect has been v+ today DIFFERENTIALS: - open, metabolic - DM?, dietary indiscretion, FB, neoplasia, other OPTIONS PROVIDED: - recomm trial maropitant and if v+ through the injection or not eating in am, represent here or at reg vet DIAGNOSTIC TESTS: - PEx only TREATMENT: - maropitant 1mg/kg 7:45PM CLIENT COMMUNICATION/PLAN: - bland boiled chicken and rice diet for a few days prior to transition to reg diet - represent to reg vet or here if deteriorates or no improvements o/n - next step bloods and imaging
