Occurs 2-3 times daily.BAR, appetite is good, no vomiting.Owner has tried multiple diets including a bland diet, Royal Canin Hypoallergenic for 4-6 weeks, and Hills Biome for the last 2+ weeks with no significant improvement.Pro-Kolin was tried and helped firm the stools to logs.Recently introduced a liquidy treat (oily version) 3-4 weeks ago, given once a night, which has been tolerated.Initial problem may have been triggered by wet food (Purina) as per breeder's recommendation.The cat is described as being stressed, particularly by loud noises.Diet: Hills Biome dry and wet food. Previously on an Australian dry food with kangaroo, then Royal Canin Hypoallergenic. Eats any biscuit or wet food put in front of her. Has tried a raw diet once no change in faeces but stopped giving raw Parasite preventative: Is due for a monthly spot-on treatment on the first of each month. The diarrhoea has been persistent despite multiple diet trials. Physical examination is unremarkable. The main differentials for the chronic diarrhoea include dietary sensitivity/allergy, inflammatory bowel disease, infectious causes (bacterial/parasitic/protozoal), or pancreatitis. A stress component may also be contributing. Diagnostics are pending to investigate underlying causes.TREATMENT:Nail trim performed.Worming tablet administered in consult.PLAN:Await results of blood and faecal tests.If tests are negative, a strict 8-week hypoallergenic food trial is recommended, with no other treats or food sources.Ultrasound may be considered as a next step if diarrhoea persists.Recommenced Pro-Kolin supplement to help bind stools. Dispensed two units.Discussed the possibility of chronic pancreatitis.Discussed that the cat is a 'stressy cat'.Owner has insurance and is aware of the costs for today's procedures ($1,182), consent given. Claim to be submitted.Continue with monthly parasite prevention.Re-evaluation will be scheduled upon receipt of diagnostic results.
