Hi, when speaking with vet James on the phone he recommended the Pro-killing enterogenic for Chilli whilst she is on antibiotics for her UTI - wondering if the Cystopro would be beneficial for her and if she could take at the same time - or not? Dear Dr Alex and the Allambie team,Thank you so much for getting in touch regarding Chilli's urinary tract infection- I hope things are well with you! Chilli is at higher risk of ongoing positive cultures given her bladder neoplasia. Enterococcus itself is commonly found in cases of subclinical bacteriuria, where they are not associated with clinical signs of lower urinary tract infection (hematuria, pollakiuria, stranguria, polyuria). Is Chilli clinical for her UTI? Enteroccoccus infections will be very challenging to clear given their ability to produce biofilm, with Chilli's abnormal bladder environment, and additional immunosuppression.If Chilli is clinical:- I recommend re-culturing her urine (ideally a sterile cystocentesis sample) to ensure the infection is persistent and sensitive to the current antimicrobialsIf she is not clinical:- Monitor for changes in her lower urinary tract signs - be prepared for intermittent courses of antimicrobials that may not completely clear her infection with her altered bladder factors.Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding Chilli or any others.Once again thank you for this referral.Sincerely,Dr Stephanie Shield, BSc DVM MANZCVS    Vital Signs
