Reason: Bandage change Intern: FH History:Amity (6y FS GSD) presented today for her recheck 1 week post-op R PCA + R antebrachial lumpectomy. Surgery 23/2/26. Has been doing well at home. Weight bearing well.Mild irritation from bandage last 48 hours. Trazodone dose not helping with excitement/anxiety. Otherwise BAR. EUDD normally. ***chicken allergy*** Objective: T: 39.3 C MM: pkP: 140 bpm CRT: 1-2 sR: Pant Demeanour: BAR MSK: Grade 3/10 RTL lameness. Moderate distal limb/digital swelling. Good alignment. No pain on palpation. Surgery site: clean and dry. Procedure: Bandage removed. Not replaced. Fixamull left in place. Assessment: 1. 1 week post-op R PCA - progressing well. Treatment: Meloxicam 35kg dose PO SID Plan:To be discharged this afternoon Strict rest Continue meloxicam for 4 days Recheck in 1 week. Vital Signs

Reason: 4 Days Post Op R pancarpal arthrodesis + lumpectomyAmity presents for reduced RTL weight bearing. Amity is 5 days post op RTL pancarpal arthrodesis.Owner reports that today he noted Amity having reduced RTL weight bearing and she has also been relatively unsettled. Examination Findings:T: not taken MM: pink, moistHR: 112 bpm CRT: <2sRR: pantDemeanour: BARCardiovascular: WNL no murmurs or arrhythmiasRespiratory: WNL normal bronchovesicular lung sounds bilaterally, normal effortAbdomen: WNL soft and comfortableSurgery site: bandage in place over RTL with minor external staining at distal base of bandage – owner did report she accidentally got waterproof cover off and walked in the yardGait: Grade 1/10 RTL lameness; mostly still weight bearing normally on RTLMSK: No obvious significant pain on palpation and assessmentAttempted to assess amenability to bandage check while awake; anxious and unsettledAssessment: Amity’s bandage appears to have minor external staining at the distal base and her weight bearing still seems largely intact/only minorly affected. For now options include sedation and bandage removal/change given current demeanour vs increasing analgesia to assess response.Treatment: Dispensed:-Trazodone 200mg BID-TID PO-Paracetomol BID PO instructions providedClient Communication: HZ spoke to owner, explained Amity’s bandage appears to have minor external staining at the distal base and her weight bearing still seems largely intact/only minorly affected. For now options include sedation and bandage removal/change given current demeanour vs increasing analgesia to assess response. Owner has a recheck booked for Tues 3/3 and elected for second option. Did discuss potential for infection and advised to monitor for worsening lameness, discharge or swelling and if seen to contact us.
