Reason: SOre Back? Not EatingHistory: See previous consults. Walter started crying out again lst night. O does not know of an inciting cause, thinks it was from him walking around. She is at work over the day so she does not know if he gets painful then. He as acting depressed and does not want to eat today. O came home from work this evening and he was bright again. Energetic in consult. O has been increasing gabapentin to 200mg in the evening, and giving it in the morning too. O is very worried about QOL. Examine: QAR, well hydrated, mm pink and CRT<2 secs. BCS 3/5, dental score 1/4. Neck comfortable on L and R, and vertical rotation. Difficult to rotate ventrally due to shape of neck. No painful response on palpation of spine. Standing hunched up. After examining, the mild head tilt to the R was visible. Examined down ears, cried out loudly with examining L and R horizontal canal. Unable to clearly visualise the TM due to ear wax and narrow canal. Discussion: We do not know the underlying cause of the spinal pain. And the cause of the head tilt. Discussed further investigation, CT vs radiography. O is interested in CT, given the risks with anaesthesia in a brachycephalic dog. Agreed to continue with pain relief over the weekend, increase the dose of the gabapentin to 300mg in the evening. Can give a dose every 8 hours if he is too painful. Continue meloxicam SID. Plan: Strict rest and monitor over the weekend.--- 05/03/2026 13:00:37 PM HWE:General recheck - Resolved - Spoke to Owner since. Picking up more gaba Today Vital Signs
