Presenting for: Rosie presented for reassessment of anal gland infection, was seen 3 days ago
Current Meds: Clavulox tablets - owner struggled to administer, managed approximately one dose only. Metacam given nightly with dinner.
Other: Owner reports Rosie seems less bothered around her back end and generally seems better since previous visit.

EXAM
Behavioural: Cooperative during examination
Oral: Grade 2 dental disease, worst on canines, no significant gingivitis, moderate halitosis, no obvious extractions anticipated
Rectal: Neither sac expressing easily with firm pressure applied. Left side soft, not painful, no inflammation. Right side unable to express anything from duct, scab present on outside.

ASSESSMENT
Bilateral anal sac impaction with right anal sac rupture - ongoing infection despite previous treatment, likely due to poor medication compliance
Grade 2 dental disease - moderate halitosis, worst on canines

PLAN
New Meds/Tx: Anal gland flush recommended under anaesthesia. Scale and polish to be performed concurrently.
Client Comms: Owner is lovely and cooperative. Email address to be obtained at reception for estimate delivery. Flexible scheduling available for procedures.
