06/03/2026 Sedation: Medetomidine/ Butorphanol iv Reversal with Atipamezole Topped up with Propofol Worked well and recovery uneventful 06/03/2026 Reason: recheck History: Remains licking LHL paw, infections seems to have cleared but ongoing swelling on dorsal aspect paw (reported last time) BAR DUDE normal Has meloxicam at home Examination: BAR, lovely dog HR 108, no murmur/arrhythmia Panting, effort wnl, stertor++ T 38.6 MM pink and moist, crT<2secs, grade 1 Abdo palp nsf Eyes ears nsf LHL firm swelling dorsal aspect paw, cytology 5+ neuts, 2+ intra- and extracellular cocci. Assessment: *Firm swelling with history of grass seeds - recommend sedate and explore. ***ADMITTED*** Dr Taryn: Sedation: Medetomidine 0.1ml / Methadone 0.6ml Reversal with Atipamezole 0.1ml im Worked well and recovery uneventful Probed and removed grass seed. Flushed with saline. Treatment:Metoclopramide and Maropitant injections Amoxyclav 750mg bid 5days Plan:cu 7days Wear ecollar.
