X-rays - Hip dysplasia.Sedation Butorphanol 0.15 ml + meditomidine 0.2ml both IM.Placed IV catheter then 1 ml alfax IV.X-raysL hip has hip dysplasia. Ball not well seated down in what is a shallower acetabulum. Femoral neck thickening and some osteophytes.Recommend synovan injections, 4cyte and commence metacam. Then will review in 4 weeks.Graded exercise and good weight control for the rest of her life.Advised will be slowly progressive.If/once gets a lot worse can consider fem neck excision or hip replacement sx. Painful L hipPain - intermittent non weight bearing hind leg approx 1 week. Seems to recover quickly and walking normally on it the majority of the time.Repeatable discomfort L hip on extension.No obvious cranial draw or patella luxation. Examination of rest of both hind limbs NAD.Advised concerned re hip dysplasia but poss lumbosacral dz, partial tear cruciate etc.Recommended x-rays which Tyson happy to proceed with. Has metacam at home and recommend rest.15 kg metacam sid with food.
